March 2005:
This is the first doll I made with Super Sculpey parts - see the clay test page for more about making
the actual doll parts.. Saija had challenged our list members to making
a doll version of ourselves, so the timing was good to combine Super
Sculpey test and the competition. Mini-Stella became rather more glamorous
than myself, but I'm not complaining, eh!
Starting to put her together.. I didn't have any fabric or flexible tape
for making the body, so I used toilet tissue! This was also the first time
I had a hot glue gun (my dear Gregory..) assisting me in doll-making, thanks
to Satu!
Hmmm.. I managed to make the arms too long again, but who cares.. LOL
I've been mummified! But wait.. My doll is too skinny.. Must fatten her up..
Toilet tissue bum.. (Actually, that sounds kinda sick) I've also hot-glued
the sleeves on, and painted the boots and legs with black acrylic paint.
Toilet tissue tummy and boobies.. I've also painted my face, ending up with
more makeup than what I normally wear. This is what I'd look like if I was bald,
and if I had a very small head (actually my head is kinda big..)
The skirt is on..
And now we are fully dressed - yet still bald!
Tadaa, we have hair! My hair options were between this wool, which was too red (my
hair hasn't been that red since I stopped dying it, back in '99), and another
material which would have been too bland, though I wasn't even able to find it at
the time.. It was only after the doll was finished, when I remembered I'd have a
full envelope of my OWN hair somewhere - though I've no idea where that is, either.
My hair is not that wavy, either - except right after I've washed it.
I think my doll is sporting a bit of a difficult teenager face.. Suits me,
I'm only 33.. LOL
She has a dodgy eye, too..
My doll could sing opera?
She doesn't have the dodgy nostril I have..
"I'll show ya"..
My bum is bigger..
Guess who's who.. LOL
Just doing more poses..
She looks like she's just forgotten something..
About to wipe a tear?
Or saying "oops.."?
The boots..
Something in her eye..
Jeez, I never realised I took that many pictures in the same pose..
*yawn...*
Here she's definitely whispering..
Woohoo, we have a new pose!
Protective..
Moving on to more face close-ups..

Here's both of us in the webcam..
See, my hair's less red..
And now I'm imitating my doll!
I'll post pics of my doll in my dollhouse, one of these days..
