MY SIMS VERSION OF DHE'S FAIRBANKS DOLLHOUSE: |
The three nearly identical L-shaped houses in the picture above, are my Sims versions
of the "Fairbanks" dollhouse by Dollhouse Emporium - you can see the actual dollhouse
here:
This is my favourite dollhouse in their catalogue, and if I had the room for it, I'd
buy it. But for now, I'll only get to play with it in the Sims! LOL
As you can see, it's not exactly like the real one.. If I kept the exterior close
to the DHE house, I couldn't fit much stuff in the house when I play the game, so
I've made some compromises..
Another angle..
And the back of the house..
View to the ground floor rooms..
And upstairs view..
The Sims family have just moved in, so they haven't yet decorated the daughter's
room..
Just a little sample for those who are not familiar with The Sims (computer game),
how close you can get by zooming in..

USING THE SIMS (game) FOR DOLLHOUSE DESIGN: |
Emilia's Tuscan coffee shop / bakery..
|
If you have The Sims (computer game), you could use it
for dollhouse design! In the first picture, you can see a detail of
Emilia's dollhouse. She was wondering whether to paint the table and
chairs black/brown or not, so I built a similar house in The Sims, and
took screenshots with the same furniture in green and brown. You can
also build the room you are decorating, and try it with different colour
schemes *etc* before you actually buy and do anything. (I have shrunk the
images for this page, so you get better details in the
game) |

Below, I have posted a series of screenshots showing a
few different "virtual roomboxes". I built them all in the same "box",
only changing the wallpapers, carpets, window styles, and furniture. The
last two scenes also have an additional wall, dividing the space. You can
see a left and a right view of each scene. First, two different living
room scenes, then a bedroom, a kitchen, a small living room and bathroom
(with a dividing wall), and finally a garden/shed scene (with a dividing
wall also). |
