16 January, 2006:
It's been months since I last updated my mini site, so there's lots of
new stuff to come, though I probably won't get it all added in one go, so
it'll be little by little.. For starters, I added a new DIY project, if
anyone needs an office chair. It's not
new, but I hadn't posted any instructions until now.
Hubby swap - what we got:
I already posted pictures of my items, but here's the whole swap, from May 2005!
(How time flies.. I never realised I hadn't updated for THAT long!!!) For a reminder:
the idea of the swap was to make something for the husbands (or other men) in our
dollhouses.. *so, no.. we didn't swap hubbies!*
Before...
...and after unwrapping all..
Golf set from Katriina..
And the same again..
A tie rack from Eija..
A lovely exotic hat from Raili (I'm afraid the women will steal this one, though!
At least they have their eyes on it like that..)
More ties from Krizze..
A top hat from Henna..
A gym kit from Saana..
A chess set from Elina..
An ashtray from Renée - massively realistic!! I love it!
Games console from Saija - great idea!
And my newspaper, pin-up pictures and the credit card..
Bonsai stuff:
Just a picture of some bonsai trimmings (Chinese Elm, I've grown a few of them from
cuttings like these), which I've since dried for mini material. They're great for nature
scenes, autumny leaves, etc..
Minis from Tiina V.:
These cute crocheted handbag and hat are from Tiina V. - Kiitos!
Our dollhouse book:
A number of members from our Finnish online group (incl. me) decided to write
a book of stories from our dollhouses. Initially, we wanted to make just a story book,
illustrated with dollhouse photos, but the publisher wanted to include some DIY
instructions and tips as well. I have to say I am extremely proud of the book we
made - it was released in September 2005, and we were told in December that there
will be a second edition soon.
These pictures show my contribution, in the proofreading stages..
My story is told in the form of letters, and it tells about chef Pierre going off
to a Tropical Island, to find something more than just the exotic recipes he went
for..
If you want the full story, you'll need to learn some Finnish, I'm afraid..
Here's the front cover. The book is called Nukkekotielämää (it means "dollhouse
life", or "life in dollhouses"), and if you click on this link,
you can see it on the publisher's website - in Finnish, though.
What else is new:
I've also added more pictures to the rubbish challenge
page, showing what I sent to JJ, and what I made of the stuff Leena sent to me. I'll
need to ask JJ permission to post her pictures of the stuff she made of my rubbish.
