31 March, 2005:
I haven't updated this site for a while again, so this entry is going to be
about this and that.. Since I mentioned the gold grab bag in my last entry,
I'll start with the pictures of Maaria and myself sharing the contents:
We were very good, no arguments! LOL Both of us had some favourites, and we
weren't mad after the same buttons, so we just organised them first, then took
turns picking what we liked, and when there were lots of certain buttons, we
mainly divided them in two.
My lot above..
Maaria's lot above..
Here's a nice little parcel I got from Tiina, a net friend who was getting
rid of stuff she no longer needed, but which seems like a little treasure
for me! *Kiitos, Tiina!*
Some nice fake jewellery, which is good for decoration, etc..
Close-up..
A fantastic little vase! My dolls are going to love this one! I might put it
in the gallery, or they'll just have it as a decorative piece at home..
Another picture of it..
A good toy car, a button, and a whistle..
Beautiful ceramic stars..
Perfect little toys for my doll kids!
Nice pearl white beads..
Mini beads and a ring..
Beads, etc.. I see a pineapple and some candle holders, or maybe dessert bowls..
Some of my dollies may have travelled to Spain..
More little toys..
Hair pins, and an earring..
A hair pin, and a necklace..
Materials for a necklace - I kept most of the beads for later, but I already made
a tiny necklace for my fashion dolls. I don't have a photo of it yet, but I will, one
of these days..
And here's a mysterious Easter surprise I received in the post (above)...
It was nicely wrapped in Easter yellow gift wrap...
...and it turned out to be a lovely mini & sand surprise from another Tiina!
*Kiitos, Tiina!* There was Finnish chocolate as well, but not for long..
*yum*
I got a beautiful hat box made by Tiina - I had seen these on her website, and
drooled at them. There were also white trays, blue plates, flowers, ribbons, and
misc. bits and pieces that are ideal for making miniature artefacts, etc!
Also, a beautiful selection of fabric samples, which my fashion dolls will
probably be wearing one of these days.. And some nice cork board!
And two sand samples from Turkey! (In case someone has missed the fact - I
collect sand.. more about it on my sand
site, which I'll be revamping soon).
Moving on..
I recently found some Nepalese handmade paper, which I got from a Finnish UNICEF
shop, years ago. I've combined it with those flower sequins and ribbons, to make
cards - above, a birthday card to my mam..
Above, a Mother's Day card for Daniel's mam (the photos and the photo card are also
by me).
I've been buying craft punches lately (our local craft shop has REALLY improved!
they seem to have almost everything these days..). In the picture above, an old
drinking chocolate jar, which I've been filling with punch-outs.. A friend of ours
brought us a Mongrel magazine, which
turned out to be perfect punching material as it has lots of colourful pages, and
it's printed on very strong paper, so even hot-gluing the punch-outs works without
making the paper soggy or anything..
Here's stuff I've made combining those Mongrel bits and Nepalese paper..
Close-up.. Cute, eh!
Another one..
And a close-up..
A little while ago, I received Super Sculpey and Sculpey III samples from Krizze,
who had looked for clay test volunteers in our group. I only had experience on
FIMO soft and FIMO classic, and since they don't sell Sculpey in our local craft
shop, I was keen to have a go. As the test includes lots of pictures, I have made
a separate page about it, and another page about the doll I made using Super Sculpey.
You can access those pages through my This & That submenu.
