4 November, 2004:
Grab some mini spaghetti and read on..
This has to be the longest break without any updates on my mini site! Anyway,
I'm updating again, so I will start by explaining the site changes and telling
what I've been doing lately.
On site changes
As mentioned in "important notes", I've finally moved
my mini site to brayforum.com domain, which means the short site URL I've displayed
in my signature for a long time, is now the actual address of this site, and not just
a redirecting page as it used to be. (If someone didn't understand what any of that
meant, don't worry, you don't need to do anything! LOL)
I also wanted to 'mark the occasion' somehow, so I've changed my site from black to
sort of sky blue - perhaps a bit strange choice, but I recently made my own
heavenly ego centre, so I thought
I'd go for similar colours here.. You'll be able to tell which pages are old as I've
left them black. (Just like on my dollhouse site where older pages have a yellow background,
and newer pages have a green background.)
I don't want to bore you, so let's break all this text with some occasional pictures..
Here's a lovely jumper I got from Saija - my fashion dolls love to wear it:
And what I've been up to..
I have nearly finished revamping the top floor of my dollhouse - when I say nearly,
I mean all the main work is done, I'm just going to be adding some more details (more
shelves, more framed pictures, etc..) Chef Pierre now lives there with his new family!
Yes.. Pierre is now married to Keisha Leona, and they have a child, Malik (fathered
by Keisha's first husband, a fisherman who sadly died in a storm). There are more
photos and a full story, but unfortunately those can not be released just yet..
Fashion doll-wise, the first episode of my doll soap is almost ready, I just keep
forgetting to type the very last part of it! Expect to see it online anyday now.. The
address is: http://fashiondolls.brayforum.com
where you can already meet the soap characters..
I'm also happy to tell that I have finally had some mini-making company! Fiona, one of
Daniel's three nieces, has been to our place for some craft sessions, and so far we've
made FIMO items. She is working on a present, so I won't say more about those items until
someone has gotten the pressie
Hopefully, we'll also get to organise some mini sessions with Maaria, who is another
Finnish dollhouse enthusiast living in Ireland. As far as I know, there are at least
three of us here, but Maaria is the only one I have met in person so far. In fact, she
surprised me with some beautiful materials and mini flowers:
Here's a close-up of the flowers:
I bought a photo printer some months ago, so I've also been making miniature photos
and postcards in both fashion doll and dollhouse scale. For the Finnish greeting card
set, parts of some free clip art pics were used (along with my own material), but
otherwise I've used my own photography. Below, you can see a picture of some sheets -
the top part is in fashion doll scale, and the bottom part is in 1:12 scale:
I have to admit that ever since The Sims 2 was released, I've been a complete addict, with not much time
for anything else.. If The Sims was great (esp. with all expansion packs and tons of
downloads), The Sims 2 is almost better than real life! Definitely a dollhouse enthusiast's
favourite computer game - and in The Sims 2, your sims can even play with the dollhouse!
I made a little video of sim Chiara playing with her dollhouse, click here to see it
(3.15MB) and have your speakers on as it includes sound, which is one of the funniest parts
of it..
Pictures of mini pressies, etc..
I've gotten mini surprises and sand samples, all of which I've really liked (thanks to
everyone who's sent me stuff! much appreciated!), but mainly due to my Sims 2 addiction,
I've been terribly lazy with photos and site updates, so although I've taken photos of
everything, I haven't resized all pictures for web yet. If anyone sent me something and
doesn't see it here, don't worry, it will be here sooner or later (or on my sand site).
Meanwhile, a few pictures I have already resized:
Glass bottles from Saija - I hope my stable stuff reply didn't crumble in the post.
Above and below, a complete mini surprise from Hanne-Maria
Below, a nice Finnish Barbie / My Scene brochure, dollhouse shirts and rye bread from
Minna. Unfortunately, the bread had crumbled in the post, but it's still good as it
just looks like someone's preparing to make a little sambo.
Below, a McD's mini My Scene Delancey, which will actually not stay with me (I can't
say more about it yet, tee hee..), thanks to Henna! She surprised me by including
lots of mini bread!
Close-up of Henna's bread. Looks delicious!
