14 January, 2004:
Just a quick note about yet another submenu on this site! The main menu was
starting to get really cluttered, so I made a "this & that" submenu for older
smaller pages, and I'll be adding new projects there as well.
I have new photos, too, but they are of swap items, so I'll wait until all
swappers have received theirs..

5 January, 2004:
Let's start this year with some pizza tables, LOL..
A Finnish friend of ours from Dublin, Mari is moving to New Zealand later in January,
so we had an unofficial goodbye party at our local - just ourselves, Mari, Heljä
(another Finnish friend from Dublin), and Heljä's fiance Karim. This background info
was Oh, So necessary, because we ordered two big pizzas to the pub.. and I got two
more white plastic tables!! LOL *see the picture above*
I've been slowly working on a new doll, and a dollhouse fishtank, but I'll make
separate pages about them later on, so I won't be posting those pictures just yet..
Last night, I worked on a black & white pom pom teddy bear, which is bigger than
the ones I made before (due to bigger pom poms). This one's going to someone who
ordered 'willy earrings'..
The annoying white bits here and there are glue, which wasn't dry yet when I took
this photo.. I'll take another picture once the glue has dried and I've trimmed the
teddy to its final shape.
Back view.. Since the teddy is bigger, I was able to add a little tail, too. I
couldn't do that with the tiny teddies as there were no pom poms small enough..
And now.. to this morning's mega mail surprise: I mentioned before having been
one of the two winners at the Roomboxes Christmas draw, and getting a prize from
Char.. well, today I got my other prize, from Marian! Two absolutely gorgeous
tiny oil paintings, and four doilies, all made by Marian herself! Actually, one
of the paintings was the prize, and Marian had the other one and the doilies
ready for me anyway, so lucky me, I got TWO paintings + doilies =)
I'm holding one painting just so you can see the scale..
And here's the same painting without my distracting hand! Amazing details, eh!
Very understandable why so many people have hyped about Marian's miniature
paintings =)
And here's the other painting.. Gorgeous..
More doilies!! =) I wouldn't have the patience to crochet doilies even in
1:1 size, not to mention in 1:12... But they ARE lovely, and they really give
that nice realistic touch for a dollhouse. I got a few doilies from Marian
before, but these have different colours, which is nice! Doilies to suit many
different colour schemes / rooms. |
30 December, 2003:
HAPPY NEW YEAR! This has been such a lovely day
for me - I stayed up last night, packing away the Christmas decorations from my
dollhouse, and reorganising the rest of it, taking pictures, and updating my
dollhouse site for the New Year (updates not yet on the site, check again for
the New Year's Eve = tomorrow!)
When I went online this morning, I noticed that
Bray Forum
members (especially one of them) had kindly made enough donations to the community
chest, that my main board's Gold status is secure again, until July 2004! *BIG
relief* =)
But mini-wise the best was yet to come: I went downstairs to get the mail, and
there were TWO parcels waiting! One was from Char, my prize for being one of the
two winners at the Roomboxes Christmas draw (woohoo!!!), and one was from Nutti
@ Beyond the Moat forum! Amazing mini goodies were in both parcels - here's some
pictures:
My prize from Char...
Pine garland and sunflowers! You'll see later on, what I made of that garland..
Beautiful 'stone' pillar for a mini garden - but as I don't have a garden *yet*,
I put it in my dollhouse living room.. Also, pop corn (cute!!), and a bouncy
doll.
A cute little deer, two little child dolls (dolls for my dollhouse residents, or
maybe even dollhouse children if I make a smaller scale house someday), and
a hoover! I love the hoover, my dollhouse will be so much cleaner from now on! ;)
And a huge padded envelope from Nutti (see, it really was a huge one! lol)
Exciting.. What treasures shall we find in it.. =P
A GORGEOUS gift bag, which is a ready-made set for a little mini scene! It's
a toymaker's shop, and this side has clear plastic windows.. Can't wait to
work on it!
But wait, there's more!! A similar bakery gift bag!! =D
Lots of ideas and printies, which I'll use in the shops..
Lovely card, too, and a letter (pixelated in the photo) =)
Six mini-bows, mini clothes pegs, and a bracelet fastener!
Little toy drums, other toys, and wrapped gifts.. I'll probably use many of
these in the shop scenes..
Nutti has made this lovely toy horse, and the dream catcher, herself! They're
really beautiful!
Toys in and around the nursery.. ;)
I need a bigger nursery! =D
I like the dream catcher..
My new hoover, isn't it cute!!
The new pillar, and a houseplant =)
Little girl has a new toy horse!! =D
Remember the garland..? Well, I used most of it to make a tree!! =) Next
year, I can decorate this as a Christmas tree - until then, it'll just 'grow'
on the little lane.. LOL ... I'll use the sunflowers for gardening someday as
well, but they're just growing under the tree for now.. ;)
Thank you so much, Char and Nutti!!! Also, thanks to everyone who sent me
a Christmas card, by post or e-mail! =) |
24 December, 2003:
HAPPY CHRISTMAS! Here's my unfinished FIMO
gingerbread house, and a little mirror and a toothbrush:
I haven't decided whether to decorate the house with white FIMO, or acrylic paint.
The mirror is a tiny mirror tile from a mirror mosaic set, which was a Christmas
pressie from my mam - she sent our pressies unwrapped, to get more pressies in the
box, so I was sort of unable to control myself with the mini stuff, and started
playing with it before Christmas.. *blush*
Another angle..
We went shopping yesterday, and I waited in the crafts shop while Daniel went to
the bank.. I got some materials for flowers..
And other misc. bits and pieces..
Tiny masks in a plastic bag.. I meant to delete this picture, but I sort of
like it! LOL |
