3 July, 2003: I have received some lovely mail
again! Fern sent me a Rubber Ducky, just like the ones she's used for her
lovely Rubber Ducky scenes, which you can see on her website! It's
sooo cute!! Here are the first pictures I've taken of my ducky:
Ducky checks out the view from his new home..
Ducky relaxes in the garden, after a long trip..
Ducky thinks he's gonna like it here! =)
Also, Marja
sent me a copy of a Finnish magazine article, which was about one of the
members of our Finnish dollhouse group. I had a black&white copy of it
already, but the pictures are sooo much better when you can see the
original colour versions!
Big thanks to both Fern and Marja!

2 July, 2003: 5pm yesterday was the deadline
for all objections against the planning permission for the 'satanic
towers' (you can tell we all really like the plan, eh?!), so I finished my
model in the morning, and took some pictures of it to be attached to our
objection. I may still continue building the model (to include more of the
area), but so far it looks like this:
All bare cardboard was painted white (to look neat)
Aerial view to the gardens..
I
painted the river (Dargle) as well..
And the planned parking space..
Another aerial view..
From Seapoint Court..
And again..
Our back gardens (looking
from across the river)
Monster towers shadowing our
neighbours..
Yuck. I'm including one
photo I took yesterday (from an upstairs bedroom), which is not a mini,
but something real - a heron often stands stretching its legs on the roof
of the (low-built) industrial building, which is currently on the spot
where this monstro-building would be.. I would MUCH prefer continuing to
see the heron against the lovely sky, rather than having to look at a huge
building and a bunch of balconies with people looking down to our garden
and bedroom!
Heron says: "Let me keep my
resting place!"
And here's something different - one of those cute
little birdhouses Marie sent to me, which I painted yesterday. I don't
have a scene for it yet, but I'm trying to think of something for a scene
base. I used crimson red for the walls, burnt umber for the roof, and
crisp titanium white for the details. I think it's really cute:
Standing on a white sheet of paper..
And here I'm holding it for the cam.. |
29 June, 2003: I guess I should have made a
separate page for this neighbourhood model project, but I'll leave it in
the diary for now.. However, there were so many pictures of it already,
that I've opened a new diary page again. (If someone wants to know more
about this project, please check out the previous diary page, you'll find
a link in the Mini Diary index). I made the other half of the planned
monstro-building today, painted more 'ground', glued the house in its
planned place, and added greenery (I had to use almost all the green pom
poms from the bag I got from Marie, but they were just right!) These
pictures start from earlier on today, when there was no greenery, and the
latest pictures are in the end of the page:
I
haven't painted the river (Dargle) yet..
Charming, innit.. (yuck)
More ugly stuff..
And more..
I suppose some perverts would
like to live in these..
..spying on people in their
back gardens like!
Aerial view..
And another one..
Pom pom + matchstick bit = little tree..
I
trimmed the pom poms to the shape I wanted..
Our driveway right in the centre of this picture.
Other greenery based on the plans..
Why not just make more low-built houses!
Sickening..
Greenery *etc* based on the
plans..
Aerial view again..
View from across the river..
I'm tempted to build some more around this..
From Seapoint Court..
I
know, I was a bit trigger-happy with the cam..
Build them somewhere else, thank you.
Their balcony view to our gardens! Pervs.. |
