Some days ago, I received a nice letter from Jen =D She used to live here in 2005 (?), and we’d occasionally meet up with herself and Maaria, for craft sessions. When she returned to Canada, she left me a plant, which is now in the back garden and is officially known as “Jen’s plant”.

She’d seen these miniatures somewhere (see below), and thought of me, so she got them for me! =D I’ll revamp my dollhouse, someday, and these will find a home there. Thank you so much, Jen, if you’re reading this! =)

It had been ages since I made any miniatures, but I’ve just finished helping 11yo H with her 5th class homework project, so I’m posting a few pictures here, just to keep the mini blog alive..

We had to build a tipi and a campsite. We used two empty cereal boxes to make a base, which we covered with miniature landscaping material. The tipi frame (and skin stretcher frame) was made with craft sticks, held together with hot glue. The lining and cover were cut from old clothes, and the floor is actually soft leather. Beds were made of cardboard and clothes, and fireplaces are egg carton parts and pebbles - the flames were also cut out from an egg carton, and H coloured them orange with regular colouring pens.

Old dead bonsai bits made for trees and autumn leaves, the lake was made with shiny craft material and pebbles, and the little Sioux people were found online, printed out, glued on cardboard, and cut to shape with a sharp craft knife.
